Game Knights

"Improving and cheering lives"

Game Knights is dedicated to helping children pass the time with fun and games while they are confined to a hospital during their recovery from an injury or illness. We provide electronic devices such as video games, consoles and controllers, iPods, DVDs and DVD players to engage and distract children who may be sad, bored, and lonely.

Our Leadership

Ryan Lutnick

President

"I take tremendous pride in taking the reigns of Game Knights from my 3 older siblings and continuing the legacy of helping children in hospitals around the New York City area. Despite the Covid-19 limitations imposed with respect to visiting the hospitals and connecting with the children, we continue to donate electronics, games, and much more to the kids. Additionally, we are further expanding our charity's reach to other areas of need."

What We Do

Game Knights, Inc. is the brainchild of Kyle Lutnick. As a child, Kyle was injured at camp and spent a week at an upstate New York hospital. While recovering, Kyle discovered that there were no diversions for the other patients and himself. His parents brought his video game console and games from home so Kyle could entertain the other children and himself. He left them there for other children to use so that they could play after he left the hospital. The creation of Game Knights is the continuation of Kyle’s idea of donating games to distract kids during their long convalescence. After Kyle left New York City for college, his siblings, Brandon and Casey, continued the Game Knights mission.

As of 2020, the youngest Lutnick sibling, Ryan, leads the organization and is continuing the core mission of Game Knights as well as expanding the charity's reach to other areas of need.

Game Knights collects brand new gaming devices and games. The charity also encourages financial donations and uses these funds to purchase new devices. Game Knights focuses our distribution efforts on those hospitals and institutions which have not traditionally had funding to provide such devices and cater mostly to children and families in underprivileged communities that cannot afford to provide the electronics on their own.

Game Knights, Inc. is a not-for profit organization. 100% of donations go directly towards our charitable efforts. Game Knights is a tax-exempt public charity status as described in section 501(c)(3) of the U.S. Internal Revenue code. Donation of goods and funds are tax-deductible.

"On behalf of the patients here at New York Presbyterian and Morgan Stanley Children’s hospital, we want to thank you for your generous donation of Wiis, Xboxes, PSPs, PS3s and a multitude of DVDs and games for the systems. We know that having a variety of diversional activities helps our patients’ hospital stay be more manageable. Please extend our gratitude to those who help you and your Game Knights Foundation bring smiles to so many."

Kevin Hammeran
SVP COO Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital and Sloane Women's Hospital

"Your extremely generous donation of laptops and toys will bring many smiles to the faces of our pediatric patients.

Your gift is truly meaningful to our program as many children arrive at our doors with little understanding of what lies ahead. Now, our nursing staff can help quiet anxious thoughts or calm stressful times with the aid of games on an iPad or a Nintendo Switch, while patients wait for an MRI or procedure. Your gifts are making a difference in the care of every patient within CHAM."

Michael D. Cabana, MD, MPH

The Children's Hospital

at Montefiore

"The overwhelming stress of hospitalization is even more evident during times when so many families are struggling in our city and around the country. We are so grateful to have supporters like you help us realize our mission to teach, discover and advance the health of our community. Your donation will allow us to provide an atmosphere of healing for our pediatric patients and speed the recovery process."
